About AI Point: Who We Are

Who runs AI Point, why we build free caption and video tools, and what you can expect from our practical, independent guides for creators.

Last updated: 24 September 2026

AI Point is an independent website about the practical side of making video with modern tools: captions and subtitles, speech-to-text, AI-assisted image and video production, and the everyday workflow that ties them together.

Why we started

AI Point began as a home for the caption and video tools we built for our own production work — an offline speech-to-caption generator, a subtitle re-timing and translation tool, an image batch-renaming utility and a device-to-device file transfer app. Building them meant learning, often the hard way, how SRT timing drifts, why frame rates matter, what speech recognition gets wrong and which export settings actually survive a YouTube upload.

The guides on this site are that knowledge, written down properly so that other creators do not have to rediscover it.

What you will find here

  • Guides — in-depth, practical articles on captions and subtitles, transcription, AI video creation, creator workflow and file sharing. Each guide is written to answer a real question completely, with worked examples, commands you can copy and the mistakes to avoid.
  • Free tools — small utilities that run entirely in your browser, such as the SRT Shifter & Converter, the Caption Speed Checker and the Image Replicator. Your files are never uploaded.

Our principles

  • Useful first. If a guide would not help someone finish a real task, we do not publish it.
  • Accurate and honest. We point to official documentation, say "at the time of writing" when something changes often, and correct mistakes promptly. See our editorial policy.
  • Privacy by default. Our tools process files on your own device.
  • British English. We write for a UK audience, but everything here applies wherever you make video.

Who runs AI Point

AI Point is run by Soubick Das, a developer and video producer who builds caption, transcription and video-automation tools and runs several YouTube channels. Guides are researched and edited by the AI Point editorial team.
